Our aim is to be the Choice of Professionals. This means that as well as dealing with our own clients, we also wish to work alongside fellow professionals such as solicitors and accountants to deliver valuable financial planning to their clients. At the heart of our offering are our 4 core focuses of Independence, Knowledge, Skill and Service.

We work in partnership with fellow professionals across all aspects of financial planning, including the following:

1. Trustee investment planning

We help trustees to meet their obligations under the Trustee Act 2000 by offering a comprehensive investment audit, then (where necessary) recommending balanced portfolios which meet the requirements for suitability and diversification. Finally, we provide an annual review with the trustees to ensure the portfolio remains fit for purpose.

2. Divorce

Ardent IFA Ltd has the only financial adviser in North Yorkshire to have received accreditation from Resolution (the Family Law Association) which is evidenced on Resolution's website. This means we are approved to work alongside solicitors on Collaborative Law divorce cases. We can assist throughout a case (whether collaborative or not) by giving our expert view on the value of assets disclosed on Form E, by interpreting actuarial pension reports, by assessing mortgage capacity and/or insurability, by recommending suitable vehicles for pension credits etc.

3. Inheritance tax and estate planning

We work with both accountants and solicitors to mitigate IHT and preserve estates for beneficiaries. Our work includes investment portfolio planning, trusts and life assurance arrangements. In addition we also source long tem care solutions to protect estates from erosion due to care costs.

4. Financial planning for directors

We help directors and other owners of business to maximise personal benefits and minimise tax through the use of pensions (including SIPPs) and other arrangements. We also help to protect small businesses from the loss of directors, partners and other key individuals.
